My short story trilogy – LOVER OF THORNS AND HOLY GODS – has now been edited, revised and sent to my formatter to work her magic. I hope to have it out this week. The three stories are continuations or outtakes from existing novels. So if you haven’t read ENTREAT ME or MASTER OF CROWS or RADIANCE, you might be a little lost. I put this collection together because I had rough drafts of two of the tales (Strong Blood and Crow Awakened) on my blog as posts, but they were quickly buried among other posts and people were unable to find them. As such, I thought it might nice to put them together in one small book and make it available in the various formats (mobi, epub) that are friendly for e-readers and phones. And honestly, I had a lot of fun making a cover for it. :-)

Just to reiterate, these are short stories, with a total combined word count of 11,815 words. Sometimes folks are disappointed in the word count, expecting something either novella or novel-length, even when the book description or cover states it’s short stories. So I’m noting word count here so you aren’t caught by surprise and disappointed it isn’t longer.

The three stories are:

STRONG BLOOD (3,504 words) – Ballard de Sauveterre from ENTREAT ME crosses time to share a drink with Silhara of Neith from MASTER OF CROWS and discovers a connection that spans generations.

CROW AWAKENED (2,975 words) – A short follow-up to THE BRUSH OF BLACK WINGS in which a terrified Silhara finally learns why his beloved wife Martise is fading before his eyes.

A MATTER OF TRUST (5,336 words) – A cultural divide is resolved in the most delightful way between Brishen and Ildiko Khaskem. Takes place after RADIANCE and before EIDOLON.

LOVER OF THORNS AND HOLY GODS will be available for .99 cents on the usual retailer sites: Amazon, ITunes, Kobo, and B&N Nook. Amazon uploads and go-lives are typically faster in their availability than the other three retailers, but I hope to see those go up within a couple of days of the Amazon load. I will definitely post with links when the book goes live at the various places.

I hope you’ll pick up a copy and enjoy these short tales.

Best regards,
